Tenderly’s Essential Dev Tools Available on Ethereal

You can now use Tenderly’s essential dev tools and infrastructure on Ethereal, an EVM-compatible appchain deployed on the Arbitrum Orbit stack. Built specifically for perpetuals trading, the chain provides a high-performance environment powered by USDe.

What’s the Ethereal vision?

Ethereal is the all-in-one USDe app built in close partnership with Ethena – the first perp DEX designed specifically for USDe-denominated trading, where users earn native rewards on margin while accessing deep liquidity and professional-grade execution.

As an application-specific chain for the Ethereal DEX, Ethereal offers fast performance on top of the Arbitrum execution environment. It features low latency and processes 1M+ orders/sec. It achieves this high performance and throughput thanks to a dedicated sequencer that handles order matching.

Additionally, since Ethereal is an EVM-compatible L3, it inherits Ethereum’s proven security and a strong ecosystem of tooling and infrastructure solutions, including Tenderly.

What Tenderly tools are available on Ethereal

Ethereal integrated Tenderly’s debugging and simulation tools for faster and easier issue resolution on the chain. With Tenderly’s industry-recognized tools, Ethereal has an essential toolkit for catching and fixing bugs before they cause critical failures, irreversible damage, or loss of funds.

The Tenderly dev toolkit includes the following:

  • Debugger: Debug failed transactions 10x faster thanks to granular insights into transaction execution. Get clear error messages on the reason behind transaction failures, step through a transaction, and jump directly to the line of code where a revert happened.
  • Simulator: Simulate transactions with updated contract code, parameters, and inputs to test a bug fix before shipping it. Override states with custom values to preview and validate different scenarios and deploy to Ethereal knowing what to expect.
  • Gas Profiler: Analyze gas consumption with a visual breakdown by function call. Identify the lines of code that consume a lot of gas and potentially unusual usage patterns. Then, jump to Simulator to optimize the code and preview the expected results.

How to get started

The Ethereal testnet is live and integrated with Tenderly, giving you access to essential tooling for development and testing. Ethereal mainnet launches October 20th with Tenderly support enabled.

Start building on Ethereal with transaction-level debugging, simulation capabilities, and gas profiling tools available out of the box.
