Blockchain Security Internship at Tenderly
As a Blockchain Security Intern, you will focus on researching and analyzing security incidents, vulnerabilities, and hacks in the Ethereum ecosystem. Your role will involve gathering intelligence on past and ongoing exploits, understanding attack vectors, and contributing to the development of security-focused solutions. You will work closely with the security and engineering teams to enhance Tenderly's security capabilities and improve the overall safety of blockchain applications.
1. Security Incident Research & Documentation
* Collect and analyze data on historical and real-time security incidents affecting EVM-based chains.
* Categorize and document common attack vectors.
* Develop structured reports on key exploits, including root cause analysis, attacker methodologies, and impact assessments.
2. Analysis and Detection
* Investigate smart contract vulnerabilities and assess how they were exploited in real-world attacks.
* Reproduce past exploits using Tenderly's products and open source tools.
* Explore transaction patterns to identify suspicious activities that could indicate potential threats.
3. Security Solutions and Recommendations
* Propose mitigation techniques and best practices for common vulnerabilities.
* Assist in designing new security detection methods for Tenderly's security products.
* Provide security insights that can be integrated into developer tools and monitoring mechanisms.
4. Tooling & Automation
* Contribute to internal tools that collect and analyze blockchain security data.
* Develop vulnerability scanners in Go.
* Work with Tenderly engineers to improve security monitoring and response capabilities.
Basic knowledge of EVM and smart contract development
* Understanding of Ethereum's execution model, transactions, and gas mechanics.
* Familiarity with Solidity and common security pitfalls.
* Experience with using crypto wallets and tools like Etherscan or Remix IDE.
Programming experience
* Proficiency in Go or willingness to learn.
* Ability to write simple smart contracts in Solidity and interact with them.
Analytical skills & security mindset
* Passion for blockchain security, vulnerabilities, and threat analysis.
* Ability to break down complex problems and explore innovative solutions.
* Strong research skills for gathering and processing technical information.
The ideal candidate will complete the following before the internship:
* CryptoZombies or similar (Cyfrin courses)
* Ethernaut CTF
* DamnvulnerableDefi CTF
