After last year’s first-ever edition, which was also an important milestone for our team, Devconnect became one of the most anticipated Web3 events this year. So, it's no surprise that the community was buzzing with excitement when, the Ethereum Foundation officially announced Istanbul as the new location for the week-long gathering between November 13th and 19th.
Istanbul was chosen as the next event location for a special reason. The Turkish community worked hard to showcase this unique city that bridges two continents, East and West. Moreover, their decision was motivated by a desire to offer support in the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes that struck the Asia Minor region at the beginning of 2023.
For those who didn't get a chance to join or aren't familiar with Devconnect, it stands out from other Web3 Ethereum community gatherings. Instead of having an official conference program, it's a week packed with numerous independent events put together by communities and teams from across the globe.
Devconnect is all about “bringing together Ethereum’s most important builders and researchers to learn, share, and make progress together.” These one to two-day events focus on specific topics important to our industry, with minimal overlap. It means you get deep insights into things like infrastructure, security, developer tooling, language design, chains, economics, DeFi, and other domains. The focus is on making a real impact, being innovative, and, most importantly, building and creating together.
Where to find us at Devconnect
Devconnect spans a whole week, featuring in-depth sessions, discussions, and workshops on a wide range of topics. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, there's something for everyone.
Occasionally, we’ll spend some time in the official Devconnect coworking space at the Istanbul Congress Center. However, our team will mostly participate in specific events organized throughout the week.
Here’s where you will be able to find us.
TrustX
On Monday, November 13th, the first day of Devconnect, a few of our team members will spend their day at TrustX. Organized by Secureum, it’s one of the first events solely dedicated to Ethereum security, a crucial aspect of the ecosystem. It will bring together leading Ethereum security builders, researchers, and Web3 OGs to discuss and share their work and ideas.
Nebojsa, our co-founder and SVP of R&D, will give a short technical presentation on the Main Stage, on the topic of Eliminating smart contract testing uncertainty with Mainnet data. The talk is scheduled for 18h local time.
In his talk, Nebojsa will address problems that arise when deploying smart contracts on the Mainnet due to deployments happening in large chunks.
Public testnets still do not fulfill their primary testing purpose. This is because testnets are not real-time environments with all of the necessary data. Many of the smart contracts are missing, there's no control over network parameters, and test tokens present a significant barrier.
At the same time, hacks, exploits, and issues arise constantly in real time on public blockchains. We see the solution in replicating the Mainnet state combined with an unlimited faucet and other necessary tools that help users reduce the risks of errors and uncertainty when deploying to production.
On the same day, at 18:30h, our DevRel Nenad will host a workshop: Tenderly TestNets: your next hacking dojo. Nenad will showcase our new staging infrastructure for smart contract and dapp, recently announced at Dappcon, Berlin.
The workshop will focus on how TestNets enable experiments and simulations of real-world scenarios in a virtualized environment. He’ll also demonstrate additional infrastructure and tools useful for security researchers and auditors.
When: 13-14 November, 2023

Hyperlink by Consensys
Also on the same day, our other co-founder and CTO, Bogdan, will be at Consensys’ Hyperlink. Bogdan will participate in a panel focused on development tooling for wallet developers.
Hyperlink focuses on the latest trends and innovations in the space with engaging discussions and panels featuring influential leaders, founders, and experts from top Web3 teams.
When: Monday, November 13th, 12:20h
Where: Madera İstanbul, Harbiye, Darülbedai Cd. No:4, 34100 Şişli/İstanbul, Türkiye
Onchain Summit: Superchain Edition
On November 14th, the Optimism Collective is organizing the Onchain Summit as the first-ever full-day event, bringing together ecosystem partners and value-aligned builders.
Its primary focus will be on Optimism’s mission of scaling the Ethereum ecosystem, the OP-way! Earlier this year, Optimism Foundation announced the future of Optimism as a platform for chains - Superchain, with the desire to integrate siloed L2s into a single interoperable and composable system.
The first to join their ranks was Base, an EVM equivalent blockchain built on the OP stack codebase. As their launch partner, Tenderly has teamed up with Coinbase to offer developers the infrastructure, tooling, and support they need to build more efficiently on the Base network from day one.
Bogdan from our crew will team up with Andrew Huang from Conduit for a fireside chat titled "Ecosystem Ready Partners." They'll talk about deployment and support for the OP stack. Also, you’’ get to meet some of our team members at this event.
When: Tuesday, November 14th, 15:00h
Where: Soho House Istanbul, Evliya Çelebi, Meşrutiyet Cd. No:56, 34430 Beyoğlu/İstanbul, Türkiye
Epic ETH Infra Day
On Wednesday, we’re joining forces with Epic Web3 and other Web3 teams for a full-day technical event tailored to Ethereum infrastructure. After a few successful editions at major Web3 events, Devconnect has chosen infrastructure as its main theme this time.
We're thrilled and eagerly anticipating the Epic ETH Infra Day, where we'll participate alongside many of our partners and friends. We’ve also prepared something special for the event, and we think that Infra Day is the perfect place for what we have in store for the whole Web3 ecosystem to thrive.
This time, Bogdan will do a keynote session titled “Ditch Public Testnets Forever: Test Privately on Mainnet Data in Minutes.” The session is scheduled for 16:30-16:50. We’d love to see you there, and you don’t want to miss Bogdan’s presentation skills!
Later in the day, Nebojsa will join Brecht Devos, co-founder of Taiko, Dmitry Zhelezov, co-founder of Subsquid, Anton Bukov, founder of 1inch Network, and DJ Lee, CTO and founder of Lightscale, for a panel discussion on "ETH Infrastructure: innovations, challenges and solutions." This event is scheduled to start at 18h.
When: Wednesday, November 15th
Where: Soho House Istanbul, Evliya Çelebi, Meşrutiyet Cd. No:56, 34430 Beyoğlu/İstanbul, Türkiye
